wheee watching national day parade now!:) ok not really. more like listening to national day parade. ahah. national day parade is getting so routine. nothing new. and i think instead of playing the same old ethnic songs they should play the nat day songs from previous years! that would be much nicer to sing to:) i was just really -.- when the SAF men came out. seriously. we are paying taxes for our army men to be dressed in red costumes to perform??? ahha. i pity them though. can just imagine how unwilling they were. this year's parade was like not v good i felt... ok although most parts i was hearing it, but i glanced up occassionally! haha. hopefully YOG opening will be much better. i think they prob just diverted more resources there.

shit i am horrible. i was like so cannot be bothered about nat day parade and continued playing my bejeweled and blogging but when IP MAN showed, my lappie just went into hibernation mode-.- ahaha. but not my fault. IP MAN ROCKS!!! ahha. i wanna marry a man like IP MAN. so brave and good sense of morals. i dunno i just find men who can fight v charismatic. like i currently have this huge crush on one of the host of fight quest doug anderson. i think he is so awesome!

(initially i typed like one whole para gaga-ing about doug anderson but i deleted it cause this is supposed to be about national day... ahha. will gaga about doug in another post!)

right. national day. i love singapore! ahah. i really do! thats why i am so against the china ppl coming over and diluting our culture and just spamming the country with bad B.O., their boistorous and annoying voice and their lack of awareness that singapore is actually a country where you HAVE TO ABIDE BY THE LAW-.- and i really believe that this is one of the reasons why singaporeans are like keen to migrate now. cause there is really a lack of sense of identity. its like the effort to differentiate singaporeans from chinaporeans is not really working out i think. SOOO many of them are PRs now. and honestly in singapore, PRs and citizens are pretty much the same. they get the same benefits and all. only real difference is their IC is blue and ours pink?

i was just quite annoyed hearing the national day rally. its like the govt is saying "oh we understand your concerns about them... but pls welcome them with a open heart. btw, we are going to open our gates to allow another dunno how many hundred thousand flood in. hooray singapore!" was reading the yahoo comments and was quite entertained. some were like "govt is asking us to open our hearts to foreigners... why not they open their hearts to the opposition party!" ahah. and there was another one that was like "since we need so much foreign TALENT, why not we invite foreign politicians to come take over the govt?" lol well although i don think we should let foreigners run the country, but i must agree they are certainly more talented than the ppl who serve me my overly sweet bubble tea at sweet talk and erm those at geylang...

i just feel the govt is like overly focused on economic growth many a times that we are really losing the singapore feel. i mean i get it, we need more ppl increase our population and more labour in the workforce. but is it really worth going that far to be a rich and successful country economically but so poor in national spirit and stuff? i mean given our size we are NEVER going to become an economic powerhouse like the US or Japan. plus the youths are getting more and more apethetic towards politics. one day, i believe, they will have no choice but to allow PRs to go into politics, and to me, thats no different than letting a foreigner run the country. and maybe in the future we will be like a colony of china or something. oh god i hope i don live to see that day.

gosh this has turned out to be a damn political post! but singapore has freedom of speech right? *bites lips* ok but i really still love singapore! i just hope we find a way to gain back our national identity soon enough before our population hits like 10 million but its 4 million singaporeans and 6 million foreigners-.-
